Allan bought this Lightning late 2010 and it was in my care for some time. He would ride it on Canterbury BSAOC runs after traveling down from Blenheim for that reason. This is he leaving the start of the run in early February 2011.
Two days later the Christchurch earthquake turned my workshop cum abode into a loosely stacked formation of bricks, but none of the bikes were harmed. Allan came down to assist with the evacuation process.

The Lightning joined all the other bikes in temporary storage during which time we stripped the bodywork from it and it went for repaint to a factory shade of red.
The 'temporary' storage lasted 6 months, then the bodywork went back on and the bike was ridden to my new workshop and returned to general service.

A new pair of factory mufflers were fitted and shortly afterwards the bike appeared in the Christchurch Classic Bike Show late August 2011.

This is a delightful bike in excellent working order, vice free and when last viewed was requiring nothing but a good clean.

By now it may need float bowls cleaned and new fluids, but after adding a battery should still be 'get on and go'.

Rego is on hold.
