1971 A65FS JE12982

Allan purchased this bike in April 2000 from Christchurch, by which time it would appear that the plate 67SGQ had already been cancelled.
Carjam reports that this plate was never issued, but I have the original certificate of registration for the bike. There are also photos and various notes that Allan had made on parts requirements.
While the certificate states that the bike is a 1972 model, the "JE" frame and engine number prefix suggests 1971 and Allan had titled it thus.

Other than the fact that Allan acquired a 1972 grey framed version of the A65FS - now sold - I am not sure why this one appears to have been taken out of service.
The rearward rest position of the kickstart lever suggests that the cotter pin has been put in from the wrong side, but I do not recall the lever being otherwise loose.
As with all the bikes there will need to be a fair bit of cleanup due to old fuel and oil residues, but I think this bike was a runner when stored.

I located the exhaust heat shield and it is currently fitted as shown. Rear tyre is flat and needs a tube and/or replacement.

Not sure of realistic asking price at this time - TBA when Beth returns from current travel.
