1969 T150T DC03241

Allan found a very nice example of an early T150 as a companion for his similar age Rocket 3. They look to have a profile much the same and were in many ways related, but when he rode it for the first time he could not believe how different the two bikes are from the riders perspective. I found exactly the same.

To qualify that - you feel like you sit 'on' the Rocket and 'in' the Trident. In my experience that impression continued through later versions of both.

It only got sporadic use and a few items began to show their age - like the fork gaiters - so he set it aside for my attention but we never got there.

The plate had expired long before he bought it so there were also some legality issues to sort, but having been previously road registered in NZ and having a VIN number will make that process a lot easier.

Having dealt with many compliance matters it comes as little surprise that NZTA left the '1' out of the frame number when entering the data. Often they will try to infer such errors are your problem not theirs..

Mileage appears low for a bike of its age, and the only historical figures I have are gleaned from Carjam below.

From overall condition however, this could certainly prove to be accurate miles covered.

Carjam figures -

First registered in NZ 01 May 1986.

Mileage recorded 5100 January 2002.

Mileage recorded 5346 22 March 2004

60UNI plate cancelled 14 July 2006.

Price -

Not sure of realistic asking price at this time - TBA when Beth returns from current travel.
